NEGLIGENT HOSTS AND PROPERTY MANAGERS NEGATIVELY AFFECT THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY
We believe that hotels are uniquely designed to handle 1-2 night rentals much better than most homes, and as the short term rental industry matures, we believe that homes are often the better option for longer stays of 4 – 30+ days, and hotels are more suited for the shorter trip.
At @luxjb we are learning from the 100 year head start that hotels have had over our industry, and our long term vision is to build a comparable hospitality company, build directly within the short term rental industry. We still have a long way to go, but we look to our favorite hotels for inspiration to offer a better and better service each day.
There’s no denying that hotels have their perks – they’re often centrally located, offer a wide range of amenities, and are a great option for short stays. But when it comes to longer vacations, vacation rentals can offer a more personalized and home-like experience. With fully equipped kitchens, plenty of space to relax, and often more affordable rates, vacation rentals are the perfect choice for a longer stay.
While the majority of vacation rental hosts are dedicated to providing their guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay, there are unfortunately some who allow raucous parties and disrupt the peace of the neighborhood. These bad hosts give vacation rentals a bad name and make it difficult for responsible hosts to succeed. So if you’re looking to book a vacation rental, be sure to do your research and choose a host who will respect the property and the surrounding community. Let’s work together to make vacation rentals a positive and enjoyable experience for everyone! And the best part? There’s plenty of room in the market for both hotels and vacation rentals, so no matter what your travel needs are, there’s an option out there for you!
THOROUGH VETTING PRACTICES
Bad hosts who allow anyone who pays into their homes regardless of their intention can pose a threat to community. They may overlook party groups or higher occupancy than the home can safely occupy. Stronger vetting procedures are necessary to maintain the safety and integrity of the communities we serve.
SAY NO TO PARTY GROUPS
There are clear signs that groups may intend to throw a party or large event, and too many can greatly erode the fabric of a community. We @luxjb have made the decision not to host bachelor and bachelorette parties. While we understand that revelers will always need somewhere to go, we’ve decided to remove ourselves from the running. In our decade of experience in this industry, there is nearly always one or two individuals who ignore house and community rules. More often than not, this will cause a safety issue or disturb long-term neighbors late at night.
